So, our little monkey can now roll from belly to back and from back to belly. Time to babyproof again!!
That is all!

Pictures, pictures, pictures!
Okay, no excuses this time. I have totally fallen off of the Blog bandwagon with a sick baby and lots of renovations going on around here. Maxime had croup again which turned into a chest cold and Al was uber-sick as well with a chest/sinus cold. Both seem to be on the mend again and we're slowly getting back to our healthy selves. I am definitely looking forward to warmer days with less sickness! This winter was definitely a trying one with a combined 6 cases of croup between the boys, Max's RSV and subsequent hospitalization and the perks of Al working in an office environment again and picking up bugs!
My cake business is starting to pick up and I have come up with a name...Le Bon Gâteau. I have 4-5 cakes booked a month so far from now until September. My goal is to have 2-3 a week by the time my mat leave is up so we can continue to have me at home with them. Fingers crossed! Here are a couple recent cakes that I've sold. The first one is for an adult male's birthday party. He is a bike enthusiast so I did a copy of his favourite motorcycle. The second was for a St. Patrick's Day party. The third one was for a group of ladies celebrating their birthdays. They asked for something to do with Coach purses...so I made them a purse!
The boys are continuing to change every day. Max is getting so much more vocal and has rolled over from his belly to back quite a few times now. He wiggles all over his play mat and I will often find him facing the total opposite way from which I placed him. He loves the Jolly Jumper and exersaucer and the freedom that they both bring. Max has found his thumb now and if he's not talking and smiling his thumb is in his mouth!
Danik is saying more and more everyday! He loves to talk about the clouds in the sky and is quite the little chatter on our daily walks. He has pretty much dropped naps and will only go down once or twice a week if he's in his stroller or in the car. He is preferring to walk now however so getting him into the stroller can be quite a challenge. My little independant boy is becoming more so every day! It just amazes me how quickly they grow up. I know that everyone tells you to savour every minute, but I don't think you fully appreciate it until you are living it! It makes me want to be at home with the boys until they go to school even more just so I can take it all in!
The boys and I are really looking forward to Chantal's baby shower next weekend. Danik and I have been working hard on a present and I have the cake all designed. I am excited to see how big her belly is and we can't wait to meet this little girl! Al and I are very excited to have a new niece in June, especially one that will be so close in age to Maxime! Christmas this year is going to be crazy! It will be wonderful to spend the weekend with the Godard family (with a brief stop-over at the Schrieders too!).
Hope you enjoyed all of the pictures!

Sorry!
Well, I certainly lost motivation to keep things updated her after poor little Max was sick! We ended up in the hospital for 2 days and nights on the pediatric floor. He had Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which caused bronchiolitis and a very poor oxygen level. It was very hard to be away from Danik and to see our little baby on oxygen (plus getting blood drawn, swabs done, etc.) but luckily Max overcame the virus pretty quickly and easily put back on the weight he had lost. Both boys are healthy now and growing like crazy!
Danik went a week without napping and is now back to having a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. By the end of the week this is what I was dealing with by dinnertime:
If I tried to put him down for a nap he would just jump out of his crib and scream at me while running down the hallway. He's back to going down no problem now!
Maxime's personality is really starting to come through now. He laughs at Danik and the dogs and really likes to talk to us now. He is staying up for longer stretches throughout the day and really just goes with the flow around here. He is consistently sleeping a 6 hour or more stretch now at night. It's nice to have a baby that sleeps!
Danik has taken to helping me in the kitchen when I'm making lunch or dinner. I have a kid-safe knife for him that is similar to a pumpkin carving knife. He loves to stir and mash and gets really excited to help me.
I've created a few cakes as well in the past weeks. The first one was my birthday cake and the second was just a fun cake that I made for my portfolio.
I promise to update this blog more frequently and to keep the pictures current!

Sick week
Oh the joys of winter and the illness it brings! Danik is feeling much better and is almost finished with his antibiotics for his ear infection. Maxime woke us up in the wee hours on Sunday night with croup. Off to the emergency room we went for 6 hours! I had to wait until he was cleared by the pediatrician as the doctor and nurses had never seen croup in such a young baby before. His croup has cleared but he's still not feeling 100%. Hopefully it all passes quickly and we can have our happy family back for at least a couple weeks before the next wave of illness hits!
Danik has decided that he no longer wants to sleep in his crib. He jumped out of his crib when I put him down for a nap yesterday. He screamed angrily at me for putting him to bed from the top of the stairs and then quietly came downstairs and went and sat with his trains. He looked up at me and smiled saying "no nap momma" and then happily played all afternoon. Of course he passed out on the couch at 7:30 before his bath because he was exhausted. Then he was up at 2am and would not go back to sleep in his crib. He's currently sleeping on the couch at 8:30 in the morning after a very awake night. Needless to say, Al and I will be going "big-boy" bed shopping tomorrow!
We finally had some sticky snow this week so Danik and I ventured outside to build a snowman. Danik named the snowman "snow" and had so much fun playing outside.

Danik also had fun eating the snow and helping me shovel.
He has his second ice-skating lesson tomorrow. Let's hope that a healthier boy equals a happier time on the ice! Fingers crossed that he enjoys it this time and lasts longer than 15 minutes!

Big Boys!
It`s been a very busy week in the Godard household. I`ve been doing alot of baking as I try to cut out more store-bought snacks out of our pantry. I found a great granola bar recipe that Danik and Al absolutely love as well a fantastic ginger molasses cookie. The boys also had check-ups at the doctors. I'll start off with some more pictures from Danik's birthday party last weekend. Tamara was kind enough to send the ones that she took.
Danik received matching Team Canada Jogging suits from Kevin, Pina and the kids for him and Maxime. I had to dress them up the same and take pictures (of course). I'm sure that they'll hate me later in life, but they were so cute!!
The boys had their 2 year and 2 month doctors appointments on Thursday with our pediatrician. Danik is 35 inches tall. I missed hearing what his weight was, however the doctor mentioned that he was in the 75th percentile for height and weight. The pediatrician noticed that he had the beginnings of an ear infection which has since manifested into a full out cold. He's on antibiotics and will hopefully feel better very soon.
Maxime is doing very well also and is in the 99th percentile for weight and length at 14lb 9oz and 25" long. He is as big as his brother was by 11 1/2 weeks. Max was given his needles so it made for a rough Thursday night. He's feeling much better now though.
We've started bathing the boys together and they love it! We get some of the biggest smiles out of Max as he watches his older brother splash around!
Danik wanted to be like Al this morning and was walking around the house in Al`s dress shoes.
We`re hoping for a healthier Danik tomorrow as we`ve planned on going to a local waterpark with the kids from next door.
